It’s been that kind of week. You know the kind. You’ve worked out hard and worked harder, and you’ve denied yourself life’s treats because you’re playing toward an end game. You’re just not there yet. Yeah, that kinda week.
So when challenged to show you my state of mind on a Friday at six o’clock, there’s one ritual that’s worth a thousand words when pictured. (Maybe more, when consumed.)
Wine Time. Unwind time. Time for wine. And with an iPhone handy, it gives me some minute bit of pleasure to be able to capture the colors, reflections and mood of one of my favorite wines.
iPhoneography Pro Tip: Shoot with HDR set to on, and do a quick edit using the iPhone 6s EDIT function for color saturation, highlights and contrast. When you’re able to import your image into Adobe Lightroom, enhance the clarity and saturation a bit (20% or less) and magnify it to sharpen somewhat (at a radius that’s anywhere from .5 – .8 pixels, by about 60-90 but no more—since it’s an iPhone jpeg, not a Camera Raw image from your high-end DSLR). Export as a 72-ppi jpeg to the desired end-use size, and voilà! Your glass of wine is looking good enough to drink.
Sauvignon Blanc Pro Tip: Your wine is, indeed, good enough to drink. And you can’t go wrong with one from New Zealand’s Marlborough region. ♣

Great story and image. You should try an Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc from Australia.

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc? Very nice, you’ve got it right: don’t let any Aussie try and tell you different! 🙂

My state of mind is tired but sadly it is too early for a glass of wine. Thanks for the photo tip – I did not know!
