Yes, Austin, if there is a silver lining to all of our upscale urban development, it’s that many of our beloved touchstones, and their signs, still thrive here. ♣
What’s your favorite Austin haunt among the champions?

You’re good to say so. Thanks, Gerry. A stirring song, indeed! Tomorrow . . . the post is on The Ones That Got Away. Tune ideas welcomed! Trying to avoid the depressing songs. 😉
We’ve never been to Austin, Jann. Although we do have relatives in Texas, so I hope to make it there one day. I will definitely look forward to seeing some of those signs in person if we do get there! :o)
I love these old signs. My favorite, I think, is the Red Eyed Fly; reminds me of an uncle in San Antonio who used to frequent a bar called The Fractured Fox…only he called it the Wounded Coon after a couple of drinks. And speaking of drinks I did find that Lone Star beer has 4 disbributers in California, 3 of them sort of near, so I’ll just wait until my next Texas visit.
That sounds like my kind of sign, too, Angeline. Austin is so chock full of creative signs it’s hard to drive down any one street here without hitting the brakes for a photograph. Enjoy your Lone Star!
Wow! What a wonderful collection of signs and they look so good grouped together like this. I live in a fairly small town so we don’t have that many signs here.
thanks for sharing. 🙂

That’s great to hear, Maya. You’ll have a great visit! As we say in Austin, “Welcome to Austin! Please Don’t Move Here.”
